TEC Microsystems GmbH Thermoelectric Thermal Reference Source (TTRS) sub-assemblies provide a temperature-controllable, uniform-temperature, high-emissivity surface used in calibrating infrared (IR) detector arrays and FLIR systems. Most TTRS sub-assemblies are open devices consisting of a thermoelectric cooler, emitting surface and temperature sensor. These sub-assemblies are driven by control-servo electronics. TEC Microsystems can help to design and fabricate such electronics.

The header cap with IR window and hermetic sealing can be provided for customized solutions.

NOTES:

Temperature Uniformity

Standard units supplied with not more than ±0.5°C uniformity. Customized units available with ±0.15°C uniformity. IR camera verification testing is available.

Heatsink

TTRS Assemblies require an appropriate heatsink for operating. A method of heat removing is required.

Thermistor

A 1.0kOhm Platinum resistance temperature device (PRTD) is used in the standard TTRS assembly. Other temperature sensing devices are available upon request.

Slew Rates

Specified Slew Rates show the minimum slew rates, achieved using the transient power specified in Technical Specification table. If more power is available, faster slew rates can be achieved.

Optical Data

Standard units can be supplied with 3 to 5, 7 to 12 micron wavelength. No radioactive materials are used in any of our catalog TTRS optical coatings. Aperture sizes for the assemblies are specified on the drawings.

Emissivity

The TTRS emitter surface has an average emissivity greater than 95% over the wavelength band of interest.

Grounding

The TTRS electrical connections are isolated from the case by greater than 5 megaohms with 50 volts direct current applied.

Control Circuit

TEC Microsystems recommends using of DX5100 temperature controllers for the purposes. OEM versions of DX5100 are optimal for application integration.
